This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Raleigh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Bowlba took us back to our trip to Thailand; Very authentic! We had the lychee tea lettuce wraps, Pad Thai (spice 5 -Thai hot) Massaman Curry (4 - hot), and finished with the Thai donuts. It was all SO good. They know how to do Thai hot and the Massaman Curry flavors were complex just like they should be. Pics are the donuts and the Massaman Curry. It takes time and quality ingredients to make good Thai food and this family includes both. Exemplary service by the proprietor and the other staff. We were happy to have found Bowlba, but sad that we don't live here!!

Pad Thai was pretty good flavor wise. Not the best I have ever had but still good. The beef hibachi was delicious but salty. For the price the portions were on the smaller size.

Delicious does not begin to cover it. Transplant from Chicago so I'm a bit of a food snob...and the food is phenomenal. The flavors are layered, so when you think you enjoyed a spoonful it just keeps coming. We ordered the basil fried rice, crispy duck buns and the Tom Yum Ramen with lemongrass base broth. We will be back!

Bowlba CafΓ© is an absolute delight. I had the Pho with beef, which was flavorful and comforting, and the Soft Shell Crab Buns is a standout. I also tried the Mango Slush, which was refreshing and the perfect sweet finish. The decor is beautiful, the atmosphere feels welcoming, and the staff was great. Overall, everything was wonderful I’ll definitely be back!

Bowlba Cafe in Raleigh was an awesome stop for dinner on our trip north of Charlotte. We visited on a Thursday evening and it wasn’t busy at all. We got the Cashew Nut Chickenβ€”spicy chicken with cashews on a bed of riceβ€”it tasted wonderful without being overly spicy. We also got the Basil Rice dish with chicken-we could really taste the basil coming through in the flavorful chicken. Both dishes were 10/10. The staff were kind and polite. Restroom was clean too. Parking is available outside. I highly recommend visiting here to try their dishes ranging from rice to noodle to buns.
